What I see when I go on Facebook
(via emulcion)
Pretty interesting read, especially if you’ve seen The Social Network.
My favorite portion of the article:
“For all its industrial efficiency and scalability, its transhemispheric reach and its grand civil integrity, Facebook is still a painfully blunt instrument for doing the delicate work of transmitting human relationships. It’s an excellent utility for sending and receiving data, but we are not data, and relationships cannot be reduced to the exchange of information or making binary decisions between liking and not liking, friending and unfriending.”
the nativity story…on facebook :P enjoy!
An almost love story. In an effort to self-edit conversation less, I’ll try to use less backspace on my computer. and my brain.
day 47
i have deactivated facebook! i was a bit iffy about following thru for lent, but it’s done. and i’m glad. of course, i had some reservations about “needing” to contact people. but if its really important, im sure i can be reached. or i could be found at the local library… these two weeks are going to be painful. ive been up till 3 each night because of work. or just trying to stay on top of things and realizing that theres just so much more to do. how frustrating. but part of me enjoys the stress. knowing that im busy means im productive…sort of. that can be such a façade. (i love that word because of that c, it has a goatee).
anyways, today should’ve been a snowday. it was so unexpected and it really piled up unlike last week’s false alarm. AND, it’s amazing to pack. i really can’t believe how it just molds in my hand. beautiful. i felt like a sculptor holding a mound of snow.
im juggling lots of things right now. they better not fall down. and i hope i dont forget any one of them. i think march will be a good month of relaxation. too much piled up too quickly.
